My research focus is on understanding critical physical processes in snow/ice-atmosphere interactions and their influence on the energy and mass balance of cold regions, including the subsequent effects on ice core records, sea ice evolution and sea-level rise. I have a PhD in Glaciology from ETH Zürich, after which I did a PostDoc in Seattle, and then moved to Wellington in 2010 to join the team at the Antarctic Research Centre. When I am not busy with science or my three small children, I enjoy cooking, hiking, biking, anything to do with snow, reading and yoga.
