I am excited to be a part of Inspiring Girls* Expeditions as the Art Instructor for Girls* on Water. I look forward to sharing the creative process with participants as we connect with and deepen our understanding of coastal Alaska’s landscapes.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Western Washington University and I have been practicing as an artist for over eight years. My artwork is influenced by my background in ecology and natural history, and shaped by time spent outdoors. I am passionate about using art to communicate science and all ways of understanding ecosystems. I am especially drawn to the power of storytelling- using art to tell stories of landscapes and our personal experiences moving through those landscapes.

With three years of experience as a forestry technician working on trail crews for the U.S. Forest Service, I feel strongly aligned with IG*E’s philosophy- to create space for young women and young people with marginalized genders to be leaders in outdoor spaces. I am inspired to join an inclusive team that will motivate each other to explore our passions and learn new skills.
