Girls on Ice Alaska Onsite Coordinator 2025
they/them
As a university student, I went camping for the first time in Alaska with another program called the Juneau Icefield Research Program. This experience changed my life, providing me with a connection to nature and the land in a way that I couldn’t have guessed – imagine that your first time camping is on a glacier - that was mine, and it will probably be like that for some of our participants too! Later I studied hydrology at York University (MSc) and went to Iceland to study wetlands, falling in love with the Arctic even more. Now I look for ways to help young participants connect with the outdoors and learn about the Arctic in ways they’re interested in, whether that‘s from a science or a social perspective.
I’m excited to help Inspiring Girls* provide these opportunities for young women in a new area and see them grow confident and empowered through their expeditions! In my free time I practice martial arts and go on hikes with my family.
