Hey! I am from Almaty - the city of apples and mountains. From my teenage years, I fell in love with mountains and nature and got my bachelor’s degree in ecology and master’s degree in water management engineering.

Some years ago I was “lucky” to participate in this programme online during COVID-19, and even through my screen, I got the energy and inspiration from like-minded women from Central Asia and Switzerland. In a couple of years I was invited to join the actual expedition with experienced scientists. That expedition gave me the chance to see a glacier for the first time!

Now I hope that more and more young women will have a chance to explore the beauty of our region.
