Being a part of the Inspiring Girls Expeditions team is special because it blends so many of my passions: science, exploration, and teaching. I am especially excited to be working with this group because I believe that strong female mentorship opens doors for young women, and the critical thinking skills that are built and tested doing science are an asset no matter what path you take.
As a PhD student in glaciology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, I research ice flow and its connection to ice properties like impurities and crystal orientations. When I am not in the office, you might find me skiing or hiking in the beautiful Alaska outdoors, or baking and knitting in my cabin to stay warm during the long winters.
