I believe in pursuing things with passion and that passion is contagious. I have worked as an educator for over a decade, as a classroom teacher, outdoor educator and hiking guide. My favourite moments are always when my students get excited about something they see or understand and I can see the light bulbs go off. Through Girls on Ice I want to help other young women find the things that they are passionate about, whether it is out in the mountains or somewhere else. I am currently passionately pursuing a PhD in glaciology at the University of Calgary. My research focuses on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in monitoring glacier change and the effects of glacier recession on water supply through computer modeling.
