about your gift
Our expeditions are tuition-free. We do not want program cost to be barrier to participation for our applicants. We also provide food, gear, clothing, and transportation during each expedition. Each participant is asked to make a contribution to the cost of traveling from their home to the city nearest the expedition's start site, but we also provide support in travel cost, if needed.
Your gift helps us pay for the material needs and staff support for each expedition! Beyond the immediate needs of each expedition, we also seek support in providing ongoing mentorship to our alumni and professional development for our instructors.
a few examples of your gift at work:
$100 provides warm clothing like a puffy jacket or long underwear to one participant
$250 helps us purchase technical equipment like a climbing rope, backpack, or kayak safety gear
$1,000 provides transportation via rental van for one expedition
other ways to give
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday will take place on November 27th and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.
Inspiring Girls Expeditions is fundraising for our 2019 expeditions. In 2018, we served 46 girls on five expeditions. In 2019, we plan to serve 73 girls on eight expeditions - and we need your help! Because our programs are tuition-free, we rely entirely on grants and individual donors to operate. We have about 70% of our funding already in place for next year. Can you help us raise the last 30% to empower more young women through science, art, and wilderness exploration? Follow the links at the top of this page to donate to the expedition of your choice. Please write “GivingTuesday” in the comment box for your donation to help us track our fundraising efforts!
Many employers conduct a workplace giving campaign. Help us inspire more girls with a matching gift from your employer! For more information, contact email@example.com.
One way to support Inspiring Girls Expeditions is through in-kind equipment support. Learn more about the equipment we are looking for, or contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
